Faith Is Not always Easy!
God blesses those who patiently endure testing and temptation. Afterward they will receive the crown of life that God has promised to those who love him. (James 1:12 NLT)
Sing Heavens! Shout for Joy!
Every time Paris (West Highland White Terrier) and I take a ride in my 1917 Ford Model T, we really enjoy our time together. She loves barking at joggers, deer that run across in front of us, and other dogs that chase us. Many times I see people who want to talk as they look at my Model T. For example, the other day, after a ride, as I was walking from our shop to the street to walk home, a lady stopped and said, Is that your cool car in the shop?” In conversation, I told her how God has blessed my life and healed me from Stage 4 Lymphoma, brain cancer, and thyroid cancer. She asked me to pray for her brother who is in cancer treatment. Right there, we held hands and I prayed for her brother as her she sat in the side of the street and other cars passed by. I have opportunities occasionally when I meet people in our subdivision, strike up a conversation, and sometimes pray with them as they hold their dog’s leash. It gives me a great opportunity to share a witness for God. I always begin my day asking God to help me to recognize opportunities to share with someone, oftentimes strangers.
A friend from GA sent me an email the other day and made a statement that I really appreciate: “Keep witnessing for the Lord through the use of that wonderful Model T. The two of you serve as efficient “transportation” for the Gospel.” That just reminded me of what Jesus said in Matthew 28:18-20, “Jesus came and told his disciples, I have been given all authority in heaven and on earth. Therefore, go and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit. Teach these new disciples to obey all the commands I have given you. And be sure of this: I am with you always, even to the end of the age” (NLT). Again Jesus said in Acts 1:8, “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes upon you. And you will be my witnesses, telling people about me everywhere—in Jerusalem, throughout Judea, in Samaria, and to the ends of the earth.” (NLT)
I am thankful for the opportunities God provides for me to share what He has
done, and is doing, in my life. Every time I go to MD Anderson Cancer Center for
an appointment or test, I see people with great needs. They are always open for
discussion and prayer. We pray in the halls, waiting rooms, or standing in valet
parking line waiting for our vehicle. God is good and I am glad I belong to Him.
Just remember, in the ever-changing circumstances of life – there is a faithful,
never-changing God in control. Don’t ever forget that. “Sing,
heavens! Shout for joy, earth!
