Faith Is Not always Easy!

God blesses those who patiently endure testing and temptation. Afterward they will receive the crown of life that God has promised to those who love him. (James 1:12 NLT)

God Gives Grace Generously

I just turned 70 years old. I have all the normal aches and pains, but I am otherwise healthy! I am thankful for the healing God has given me from stage four Lymphoma, Thyroid Cancer, and Brain Cancer. I like to share with others what God has done! I am thankful to be alive! Since I was diagnosed with cancer in 2012, I have discovered  old dogs can learn new tricks!

(1) I learned to pray, “God, I need your sustaining grace.” I admit, there were times I felt like giving up.  But I learned to throw myself on the sustaining grace of God and cry out for His help. In James 4, the Bible says that “God
gives grace generously”.
(2) I learned to let God’s Word comfort me, strengthen me, and give me the energy to keep going. For many years, even before I got cancer, I awaken each morning at 4 am for my Bible study and prayer time. It was the Psalmist who said, “Revive me with your word” (119:25 NLT).
(3) I learned to hold on to God’s promises. The Bible says,
“He gives strength to the weary and increases the power of the weak. Even youth grow tired and weary … but those who hope in the LORD will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint” (Isaiah 40:29-31 NIV).
(4) I learned to keep my eyes focused on the hope of Heaven, not just on the here and now. I know I have already lived a lot longer than I have left and I will receive my ultimate healing when I breathe my last breath because Jesus is my Savior and Lord. God is good and I’m glad I belong to Him!
