Faith Is Not always Easy!

God blesses those who patiently endure testing and temptation. Afterward they will receive the crown of life that God has promised to those who love him. (James 1:12 NLT)

“God Surrounds us With a Host of Angels"

I know people who are going through trying times right now. It might be physical, emotional, financial, or job related, and sometimes it’s hard to wait for the doctor’s answers or to know the right decisions that we should make. But the Bible does tell us that for the believer and Christ follower, nothing happens outside God’s control–and yes, if we know Christ, His angels continually watch over us. The Bible says that God “will command his angels concerning you to guard you in all your ways” (Psalm 91:11). The Bible also teaches that the angels–although they are largely unseen–watch over us and work for our good. The Bible says, “Are not all angels ministering spirits sent to serve those who will inherit salvation?” (Hebrews 1:14).

Rather than only one angel, God surrounds us with a host of angels to protect us and go before us. Even when hard times come, Satan can never snatch us away from their protection–and some day they will escort us safely to heaven. The reality of God’s angels should give us great confidence in the Bible’s promises. So today, in the midst of your trials, be assured of God’s watch care for you and family. As a believer and Christ follower, isn’t it great to know you are in God’s care?

Every time I watch a family member drive off I pray that God in His grace will give them protection – send forth angels to be with them. When I hear a siren I always pray, “Lord, I don’t know what that emergency is, but You do, so please minister to the people in that situation. Or if I hear an airplane fly above, I always ask that God protect passengers and crew.

While angels are real, we are not to become preoccupied with them. Only God is worthy of our worship, and only Christ saves us. Trust Him alone as your Savior, for “Salvation is found in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven given to men by which we must be saved” (Acts 4:12).

When I see those beautiful deer in our backyard (we counted 10 early last night), I always anticipate the morning pictures from my night vision game camera. I always thank God for the deer as well as all the squirrels and birds I feed and ask for their protection. Now I know I’m a little peculiar and weirdly different, but I believe God has planned all creation for a purpose. Our shop is about a hundred yards from our back door and the other morning I was going out to feed the squirrels and a neighbor’s cat was chasing one of “my” squirrels. I screamed at that cat to hurriedly run him off and then realized God gave that cat the nature to hunt. I just pray that my neighbor feeds that cat well so he won’t have a “hungry” desire to hunt squirrels and birds! The same goes for those big Red-tailed hawks I often see flying above and occasionally swoop down for its prey. I understand that’s the way God designed nature and that’s ok with me. Be blessed today!
